Donating Archival Material
The Bruce County Archives is always looking to expand its collection in order to get a more representative account of Bruce County’s history. Whether it is a single photograph or boxes of family records, it is all an important part of our past. The act of donating your archival materials to the Bruce County Archives is one of extreme generosity because you will be sharing a part of your life with the community. People from all walks of life and every kind of interest will be able to use and enjoy your donation.
It is our goal to make the donation process an enjoyable experience for you. We want you to remain confident in the Bruce County Archives’ ability to take excellent care of your collection. In the rest of this document, the process that your collection will go through once it is donated to the Bruce County Archives is outlined. Everything in this proposal meets archival standards that are followed by professional archivists throughout Canada and the United States. Ultimately, this is your collection and your concerns and desires are very relevant. We will do our best to ensure that you are comfortable with the entire process and are satisfied with the future of your collection.
