Background on our 2009 Summer Exhibit – Dinosaurs Invade Bruce County

Travel 100-million years through time and come face-to-face with state-of-the-art, life-like, robotic dinosaurs. This captivating exhibit features many exciting hands-on activities for visitors of all ages includinga “Build A Dino” and a “Diggin’ Up Bones” pit, a real ice glacier and a “Rub A Dino” activity.

Dinosaurs go roooaaarrr! And the eyes move like this!” says two year old Caillen of Toronto.
Note: According to his mother, Monica, Caillen did not stop talking about the dinosaurs after his first visit so she had to bring him back a second time to the Museum.Caillen enjoyed his second visit to the BCM&CC so much that he now has a fascination for dinosaurs. His room is full of them!

Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre will be home this summer to seven life-like prehistoric creatures, including:

  • Triceratops
  • Velociraptor
  • Pterandon
  • Parasaurlophus
  • Dilophosaurus

and the ever-popular

  • T-Rex!

In conjunction with the exhibit, participants can also get involved in our interactive activities: Rub-A-Dino, Dig-A-Fossil, Build-A-Dino, and a souvenir picture with our very own baby mammoth, “Tara.”

Great extra features to this exhibit will be our own real glacier created in 2008 and our own Diggin’ Up Bones pit on the second level exhibit hall.
