Museum In A Suitcase – Family Heirlooms

Sponsored by the Kincardine CHAT program, this interactive educational box is designed to bring the Museum to your classroom.  The box contains Museum artifacts, a full lesson plan, a variety of activities with worksheets for you to complete with your class, an evaluation rubric, and follow-up activities.  The case compliments the Ontario Social Studies Curriculum and the Language Arts Curriculum, and provides an integrated, interactive, and fun experience for you and your students.

The Family Heirlooms case contains artifacts donated to the Museum.  The students will handle these objects and attempt to discover the story behind them.  They will use their imaginations to determine why the artifacts are family heirlooms and then create a mini-exhibit of their own using family heirlooms that they bring from home.
