Museum In A Suitcase – Tools of the Trade
Click here to go back to previous page
Sponsored by the Kincardine CHAT program, this interactive educational box is designed to bring the Museum to your classroom. The box contains Museum artifacts, a full lesson plan, a variety of activities for you to complete with your class, a rubric to evaluate the students and follow-up activities. The case compliments the Ontario Social Studies Curriculum and Language Arts Curriculum, and provides an integrated, interactive, and fun experience for you and your students.
In the Tools of the Trade suitcase, students will discover how the pioneers lived and the tools that they used in their everyday lives. They will have the opportunity to handle pioneer artifacts and make educated guesses on their uses by comparing them to everyday objects. They will play a matching game of past and present tools and try to move objects in the pioneer manner. The students will learn and have fun at the same time!
Your school can rent the box for three weeks at a cost of $30. Use it as may times as you like during that period!
