The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre offers a number of education programs designed to meet the Ontario Curriculum Expectations for students of all ages. We are excited to offer year-round programs as well as specialty programs designed for our traveling exhibits.

We provide educational resources, programs and activities to enhance the knowledge and understanding of our unique heritage, and to support the Ontario Curriculum. All Museum programs are hands-on and activity based. Program delivery is facilitated by trained volunteers and professional Museum staff, all of whom bring a tremendous amount of dedication and passion to the education program.

Frequently Asked Questions



What is the cost for an education program at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre?

$5 for a half day program (approximately 2 hours)

$9 for a full day program (approximately 4 hours)

*Kindergarten to Grade 8 Programs are HST EXEMPT*

*Grade 9 through 12 Programs – please add HST*

Parents/Teachers/Bus Drivers (any supervising adults) are admitted at no cost

Medieval Lunch is an extra cost per each person eating the meal. (Please contact Carlin Val, Education & Outreach Coordinator for further details)

What times are available for a visit?

We usually run programs from 10:00am-12:00pm and 12:30pm-2:30pm, however, these times can be adjusted to suit your travel schedule.
I like one of the programs that is not listed for the Grade Level I teach, can the program be adapted?

What happens if we cannot make it on the day of our visit?

Please call us as early as possible and let us know. We can reschedule the visit for another day. If you are participating in the Medieval Program and the lunch, there is a cost of $3 per meal that is non-refundable if you cancel less than 4 business days prior to your visit.

How many supervising adults should we have?

The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre asks that you have a ratio of 1 supervisor for every 6 students. If you have more than 1 supervisor for every 6 kids, that’s great! Extra hands are always helpful!
