Jarmo Jalava is a respected ecologist in Ontario, as well as an accomplished singer-songwriter, writer, and expert birder. For more than 30 years he has worked with NGOs, First Nations and government agencies for the informed protection and recovery of healthy ecosystems, sustainable land uses, and deep reverence for the natural world. He has traveled widely, from Nepal to Morocco to Colombia to the Yukon. As a musician he has performed on stages from Vancouver Island to Mexico City to near the Arctic Circle in Finland. In his youth he hitchhiked the equivalent of the circumference of the globe, guitar in one hand, binoculars in the other.

Dr. John Towler Biography – Dr. Towler has traveled to, lived in and written about 85 countries. His travel articles have appeared in many publications such as En Route (Air Canada in-flight), Lookout (Spain), The Toronto Globe and Mail to only name a few. He is a regular contributor for a variety of business and regional publications and is an award winning digital photographer. John holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Toronto and York University, two postgraduate degrees from the University of Alberta and has taught at seven universities in Canada, the USA and the UK. He is the former partner of a management consulting company, Principal and Vice Chancellor of Renison University College at the University of Waterloo, a professor emeritus of the University of Waterloo, Andrew Jackson University, Breyer State University and the American College of PreHospital Medicine.
