This exhibit recognizes the 100th anniversary of the Great Lakes Storm of 1913. It is still known as the deadliest and most destructive natural disaster to ever hit the Great Lakes, especially Lake Huron, killing more than 250 people, destroying 19 ships, and stranding 19 others. This “November Gale” produced wind gusts of 145 kilometres an hour, waves more than 10 metres high and whiteout snow-squalls.
