Elder Stories, Beading & Drumming with Shirley John

Wednesday, August 10 & 24 | 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Located in the Anishnaabwe Endaat Gallery, Shirley John (Local Indigenous Elder) will join us to share Elder teachings. These teaching are suitable for ages 4-12. Topics include creation stories and drumming.

Creation Stories with Natalka Pucan

Monday, August 15 & 22 | 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM

 

Located within the Anishinaabwe Endaat Gallery, patrons will be guided through traditional Indigenous teachings and practices, including creation stories.

Medicine Wheel Teaching Circle with Trish Meekins

Trish Meekins (Nikaanaganaa Councelling & Learning Centre) will join us for a smudge cermony and traditional sacred herb teaching.

Indigenous Food Presentation with Chef Zach Keeshig

Wednesday, August 24 | 1:00 PM

Join local Indigenous Chef Zach Keeshig for a demonstration of the traditional culinary practices of his people. This will include field dressing a rabbit and tasting traditional Indigenous fare.
