SUMMARY:Honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman and Girls
DESCRIPTION:In honour of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (Red Dress Day)\, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre will host a presentation and talk on the crisis of systemic violence faced by Indigenous women and girls.  \nThis year’s event will include a blessing ceremony by Elder Shirley John to open the event\, a presentation of names of missing and murdered women and girls from the local community and across Canada\, and speakers from Saugeen Ojibway Nation\, including: \n\nCommunity member and advocate for MMIWG\, Serena Wesley\nFormer Miss Saugeen (2025) and Artist\, Kennedy Cameron\nCommunity Elder and Advocate for MMIWG\, Cheryl George\, a Human trafficking and Residential school survivor\n\nThere will be light snacks\, coffee\, and tea during a reflection period following the talk.    \nFREE to attend; All are welcome.  \nLimited seating\, preregistration required.  \n REGISTER >>
