DESCRIPTION:Select Thursdays\, July & August | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nDiscover cultural traditions and explore the richness of Indigenous heritage in the region. These demonstrations will cover a variety of topics\, such as elder stories\, sharing circles\, and cultural education.    \n Please note\, presenters may be subject to change.   \nMembers FREE; General Admission Applies. No preregistration required.   \nProudly presented by Bruce Power.  \nSchedule:   \n    \nThursday\, July 2 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nSaugeen First Nation Community Member and Educator Natalka Pucan will lead birchbark craft demonstrations in the Museum’s Lower Cafe.    \n  \nThursday\, July 9 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nCrystal Kewageshig will describe the origin of the jingle dress and showcase the dance style. Crystal’s roots stem from Saugeen First Nation and Neyaashiinigmiing. She is also an educator at G.C. Huston Public School. \n  \nThursday\, July 16 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nSaugeen First Nation Community Member and author Dorothy Ladd will read her storybook Memengwaa\, the story of the life of a Monarch Butterfly or “Memengwaa” in Ojibway.   \n  \nThursday\, July 23 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM  \nCaley Doran with Anishinaabe Cultural Experiences from Cape Croker Park\, Neyaashiinigmiing.   \n  \nThursday\, July 30 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nJoin Saugeen First Nation Elder Shirley John in the Anishnaabwe Endaat gallery where she will share seasonal stories and guide children in a craft.    \n  \nThursday\, August 6 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nCrystal Kewageshig will describe the origin of the jingle dress and showcase the dance style.
