Once a week\, participants will gather to explore storytelling\, acting\, music\, and gentle movement. Workshops will be led by Joan Chandler (acting\, theatre and improvisation) and david sereda (singing and songwriting) of Sheatre\, plus guest artists. DESCRIPTION:Join community members from the Chippewas of Saugeen and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation for more insight about the Witness Blanket exhibit and deeper awareness into local and person experiences.    \nWednesdays\, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nOctober 7\, 14\, 21\, 28   \nNovember 4\, 18 and 25   \nThe Witness Blanket is a powerful art installation created by master carver Carey Newman to recognize the atrocities of the residential school era\, honour the children and symbolize ongoing reconciliation. Inspired by a woven blanket\, this cedar-framed artwork is made of hundreds of items from Indian residential schools\, Survivors\, churches\, governments and other cultural sites across Canada. Each item tells a story of loss\, strength\, resilience and pride. The installation on display is a replica of the original Witness Blanket.  \nFREE to attend. Preregistration is required. DESCRIPTION:If you believe that you are never too old to have fun\, try something new\, and be creative…“I’m Not Done Yet!” is for you!    \n“I’m Not Done Yet!” — a fun\, creative arts workshop for adults 55 and older comes to Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre this fall. Once a week\, participants will gather to explore storytelling\, acting\, music\, and gentle movement. Workshops will be led by Joan Chandler (acting\, theatre and improvisation) and david sereda (singing and songwriting) of Sheatre\, plus guest artists. SUMMARY:The Witness Blanket: Community Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Join community members from the Chippewas of Saugeen and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation for more insight about the Witness Blanket exhibit and deeper awareness into local and person experiences.    \nWednesdays\, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM   \nOctober 7\, 14\, 21\, 28   \nNovember 4\, 18 and 25   \nThe Witness Blanket is a powerful art installation created by master carver Carey Newman to recognize the atrocities of the residential school era\, honour the children and symbolize ongoing reconciliation. Inspired by a woven blanket\, this cedar-framed artwork is made of hundreds of items from Indian residential schools\, Survivors\, churches\, governments and other cultural sites across Canada. Each item tells a story of loss\, strength\, resilience and pride. The installation on display is a replica of the original Witness Blanket.  \nFREE to attend. Preregistration is required.
