SUMMARY:Crazy Quilting Workshop Begins!
DESCRIPTION:  \nJanuary 29 & February 5 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM  \nTake part in a two-day quilting workshop inspired by our upcoming exhibit The Thread of a Story: When Artefacts Inspire Art\, led by artists included in the show!  \nDuring the workshop\, participants will create a small needle case or pouch based on Victorian Crazy Quilting — an American method using irregular shapes\, haphazard fabrics and an abundance of embellishment. It was influenced by the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition where women were introduced to Japanese asymmetric style and ornamental needlework from England.    \nDon’t worry if you’re not a ‘thread-head’—this workshop is suitable for those with little or no hand sewing experience but will be enjoyed by all skill levels.  \nSee full workshop details and registration >>
