Upcoming Muse Talk event takes BCM&CC guests “Inside the Atom”

SOUTHAMPTON, ON [April 26, 2022] Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre announces the next event in its Muse Talks Academic Lecture Series: Inside the Atom, an evening with Dr. Eric Johnston, Chief Innovation Officer at the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII), taking place on May 11.

In this upcoming talk, Dr. Eric Johnston will explore the inside of the atom and share insights on how nuclear forces work and function as part of our everyday lives.

Guests will enjoy an evening full of fascinating topics such as art forgery, space exploration, medical imaging, cancer treatment and more—all connected as actions that take place inside the building blocks of the universe.

Doors open at 7:00 PM and a cash bar will be available. Tickets available now at brucemuseum.ca.

The Museum’s Muse Talks Academic Lecture Series is proudly presented by Georgian College.

About Dr. Eric Johnston

Dr. Eric Johnston is the Chief Innovation Officer at the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII), where he leads efforts turning good ideas into great projects for some of Canada’s largest companies in the nuclear space. His familiarity with emerging technologies like advanced manufacturing and machine learning, combined with knowledge of nuclear issues from isotopes to radiation exposure, has helped him develop projects and get them funded, with academic and government partners including the U.S. Department of Defense and the Canadian Space Agency.

Eric has a PhD in Health/Medical Physics from McMaster University and a nuclear engineering undergraduate degree from Queen’s University.
