Book Launch: Memengwaa, The Monarch Butterfly by Dorothy Ladd

Visit the BCM&CC on March 16th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM for the launch of local author Dorothy Ladd’s new children’s book Memengwaa, The Monarch Butterfly, illusttrated by local Anishinaabe-kwe artist Jeannette Ladd and translated from the Ojibwe by Marilyn Roote.

Memengwaa explores the deep connection between Ojibwe beliefs and the winged creatures, with scientific facts about the butterfly lifecycle and migration.

The event is open to the public and the book will be available for purchase and book signing by the author. The launch event will provide attendees with the opportunity to meet Ladd in person and learn more about her inspiration behind the book.
