Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre invites public input through survey to shape future of museum

The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) is inviting residents and visitors to share their thoughts through a public survey as it begins work on a new four-year strategic plan.

The feedback will help guide the Museum’s priorities from 2027 to 2030. The Plan’s actions will ensure programs, services and resources continue to reflect the needs and interests of the community, while also supporting tourism and demonstrating value to County residents.

Since development of the Museum’s last strategic plan, significant changes have taken place locally and beyond. Bruce County continues to experience population growth and increasing diversity, while the cultural and tourism sectors face new challenges and opportunities. The Museum is taking this opportunity to pause, listen, and plan for the future.

“We want to hear from you,” says Museum Director Cathy McGirr. “Public feedback plays an important role in shaping how Museum services adapt and remain relevant in a changing world.”

The survey asks for input on a range of services, including programs and events, educational offerings, facility rentals, and the care of the Museum’s archives and collections. Responses will also help inform future partnerships, community involvement, and long-term sustainability.

The survey is available online. Printed copies are available on request in person at the Museum or by calling 519-797-2080. Participants will have the opportunity to enter to win one of three $50 gift certificates to Mill Creek Chocolates.

The survey will be open for 3 weeks and will close on Friday, May 8, 2026.
