Unveiling of the Fabric of Our Being Quilt Project | 1:00 PM
The Fabric of Our Being Quilt project began in February, hosted by artist and President’s Poet Nadine Williams, who spoke on the International Decade for People of African Descent—a UN initiative recognizing the contributions, histories, and rights of people of African descent, and encouraging communities to celebrate diversity. The project invited members of the community to design a quilt square reflecting on these themes and their own identities. The quilt squares have been sewn into a completed 6ft x 7ft quilt.
Join us for this special unveiling of the Fabric of Our Being Quilt and celebration of the community. The quilt will be unveiled here at the Museum where it will be kept for permanent display.
Doors open at 1:00 PM, with special guest Nadine Williams speaking at 1:30 PM. Enjoy refreshments and treats.
Free Admission. Pre-registration is encouraged.
Funding for this project is provided by Community Foundation Grey Bruce.
