Designed for children ages 5-10, the BCM&CC’s Summer Explorers Camp offers a unique blend of fun, education, and unforgettable experiences. Campers will embark on a journey of discovery through interactive exhibits, crafts, games, field trips, and special guest appearances all related to the weekly theme.
The BCM&CC is located near hiking trails, lakes, parks, and a splash pad, providing the perfect backdrop for outdoor exploration. Join us for an unforgettable summer of learning, laughter, and lifelong memories!
Wilderness Adventure (July 8-12) – Embark on an exciting week of adventure where you’ll meet wildlife and get up close with nature as you explore the great outdoors!
Shipwrecked Survivors (July 15-19) – Survive and thrive as castaways, learning about marine heritage and maritime history, and maybe even discover some buried treasure!
Super Sleuths (August 19-23) – Investigate the mysteries of the natural world, exploring scientific concepts and debunking common myths.
Art Lab (August 26-30) – Discover an endless world of creativity and tinkering, where campers engage in process and product-based art, fun experiments, and inventive projects!

Summer Explorers Camp Information for Parents/Guardians
Drop-off/pick-up:
Drop-off is in the lobby between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. There will be a sign in/out sheet at the front desk to ensure your child’s safe arrival and departure; please indicate who will be picking your child up that day on the sheet.
Pick-up is at 4:30 PM. If you need to pick up your child earlier, please inform camp staff in the morning.
What to bring:
- 1 nut-free lunch
- 2 nut-free snacks
- A water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Weather appropriate outdoor clothes – we will be outside each day
- Good footwear
- A sweater (the Museum can get cold)
- A change of clothes/extra socks
*Please label all items with camper’s names if possible
Please do not send:
- Electronic devices
- Play weapons or weapons of any kind
- Clothes that cannot get dirty
- Non-essential personal belongings (to avoid lost items and mix-ups)
Please note that while we require nut-free snacks and lunches be brought to camp, we are a nut-aware (not nut-free) facility and share a kitchen that is used for rentals. If you have concerns about allergies, please speak to a camp staff member.
CAAP Funding
The Child Activity Assistance Program (CAAP) is a fund available for families with a gross income of less than $49,466.00. The fund assists families with the cost of activities such as school trips, school nutrition programs, extra-curricular activities, arts and cultural programs, Scouts/Brownies etc. Bruce County families can access this program for their dependent children under the age of 18, and receive up to $500.00 per child, per year.
