Bevan’s General Store

Home | Exhibits | Bevan’s General Store
Step inside the General Store and back in time. Visit the shopkeeper to learn about the importance of general stores in history. See the store’s impressive inventory to serve every family need.

This is the third exhibition of the General Store at the Museum since its inception in 1955.

Some of the old favourites are again on display, such as the big black boot, the old streetlight, the counter and storage bins. Features to the General Store exhibit include a counter for programming as well as a “meet” the storekeeper video.
Discover the important role general stores played in Bruce County’s communities, meet the storekeeper, and browse the store’s inventory using interactive screens.
