This week, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre opens registration for its holiday events taking place throughout the month of December.
On the upcoming November 24th PA Day, the Museum will host a holiday-themed “Maker Day,” where kids will enjoy making a variety of beautiful winter-inspired creations, spending time in the exhibits, and watching a holiday movie on the big screen in the Bruce Power theatre.
On December 8th , preschoolers taking part in the holiday edition of the Museum’s Merry Munchkins program will ‘shop’ in Bevan’s General Store for ingredients to create a meal kit they can donate to an area food bank all while learning about the spirit of giving.
On December 15th from 5-7:30 PM, the third annual Light Up the Holidays event returns to the BCM&CC with festive fun for the whole family! During the evening, guests will enjoy hands-on crafts, snacks, live music, holiday story time aboard the HMS General Hunter, and a visit with Santa himself! In the spirit of the season, there will also be a Grinch-themed scavenger hunt throughout the museum, sugar cookie decorating, and a Victorian magic show. This event is proudly presented by Tina Blair Law Firm and media partner 97.9 the Bruce.
Winter fun continues with the Museum’s “Not on Netflix” movie series, featuring everything from heartwarming kid-friendly flicks, to thrilling new releases. Movie tickets will include access to the entire Museum. The Museum will also have drop-in crafts happening from December 27th – January 6th. Members free; General Admission applies.
If you’re looking for the perfect gift for your loved ones this holiday season, give the gift of time travel by purchasing or renewing your Museum membership between November 13 – December 20 for a chance to win a $200 Blue Mountain gift card.
