Muse-Talk: Discovering the “Africa” Shipwreck, with documentary filmmakers Yvonne Drebert and Zach Melnick

April 27 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Muse Talks Academic Lecture Series

Documentary filmmakers Yvonne Drebert and Zach Melnick unveil the secrets of their recent discovery off the west coast of Lake Huron’s Saugeen-Bruce Peninsula where beneath the waves lies an intact shipwreck believed to be the Africa, unseen since its disappearance in 1895 with its entire crew.

Immerse yourself in the depths of history as the duo shares behind-the-scenes details from their upcoming documentary, All Too Clear: Beneath the Surface of the Great Lakes. You’ll see a sneak peek of the expedition, including footage from the underwater drone that the filmmakers used to explore the depths to find and identify this long-lost vessel.

Don’t miss the chance to dive into the mysteries of the Great Lakes and engage with the Africa’s discoverers during a Q&A session! Bring your questions and uncover the untold stories lurking beneath the surface.
