Celebrate March Break with a full week of family-friendly fun at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre! Enjoy a lively mix of activities, from a special movie screening and engaging heritage and cultural demonstrations, to an exciting bird show.

 

Kids will be delighted by a colorful balloon show and a dazzling magic performance. 

 

With engaging experiences happening throughout the week, it’s a perfect time for families to explore, play, and enjoy the museum together.

March Break Family Fun Days – Alice in Wonderland (2010, PG) 

March 16 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

 

In this epic Disney fantasy adventure directed by Tim Burton, Nineteen-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with old friends like the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.

March Break Family Fun Days – Heritage Demonstrations

March 17, 19, 21 | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM 

 

Step into the past as the museum’s exhibits come to life over March Break. Enjoy live displays from spinners and weavers, wood turners, marine heritage interpreters, our lively general store, and Riding the Railways storytelling. 

 

Demonstrations vary from day to day, so each visit offers something different to discover. 

 

Members FREE. General Admission applies. No registration required.  

March Break Family Fun Days – Raptors of Ontario 

March 17 | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

 

Join Wild Ontario from the University of Guelph for an introduction to some of the province’s most incredible hunting birds! In this program, you’ll learn all about raptors, and the amazing skills that help them survive in the wild. Through the stories of these special birds you’ll also learn about how humans can impact wild birds, and what you can do to help! 

This show is not hands-on. 

  

$5 Members | $10 Non-Members (Plus applicable fees).

March 19 | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

 

Filled with illusions, comedy, and of course, balloons, this surprising and captivating show will have kids bursting with excitement! Imagination, humour, creativity, and audience participation abound in this one-of-a-kind show.

March Break Family Fun Days – Cultural Demonstrations 

March 20 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM 

 

Visit the Museum for engaging cultural demonstrations that celebrate winter traditions and knowledge.  

Join Saugeen First Nation Elder Shirley John in the Anishnaabwe Endaat gallery where she will share seasonal stories and guide children in a winter-themed craft.  

 

Saugeen First Nation community member and Native Knowledge Teacher Natalka Pucan will be in the Lower Cafe leading hands-on learning about animals and hibernation, with participants making puppets. 

These interactive sessions offer a warm and welcoming way for families to learn, create, and connect.

March Break Family Fun Days – Steve Baker Magic Show   

March 21 | 11:00 AM

 

Our favourite local magician The Great Steverino is back, but this time, he’ll be showing us some fantastical tricks, with easy magic for kids to learn and perform on their own!
