Discover cultural traditions and explore the richness of Indigenous heritage in the region. These demonstrations will cover a variety of topics, such as: elder stories, sharing circles, and cultural education.

Saugeen First Nation Community Member and Educator Natalka Pucan will lead birchbark crafts in the Museum’s Lower Cafe.

Indigenous speaker, and founder of Blue Sky Indigenous Cultural Services, “Katherine” BiiWaubun Kwe Proulx-White, will guide visitors on a tour of Anishnaabwe Endaat Gallery.

Saugeen First Nation Community Member and author Dorothy Ladd will read her storybook Memengwaa, the story of the life of a Monarch Butterfly or “Memengwaa” in Ojibway.

End of Summer Demonstration Day

Join us for a special day where teachers, knowledge keepers, and artists from this year’s Cultural Demonstrations will return on the same day. The day will feature Elder teachings, crafts and workshops, special tours of the Anishnaabwe Endaat gallery, food demonstrations, book readings, and land-based knowledge sharing from members of the local Saugeen Ojibway Nation.  

 

Members FREE; General Admission Applies. No preregistration required.
