About the Film

Thibaut is an internationally renowned conductor who travels the world. When he learns he was adopted, he discovers the existence of a younger brother, Jimmy, who works in a school cafeteria and plays the trombone in a small marching band. Despite immense adversity — from social restrictions to political instability — she nurtures a dream: to compete on the world stage. Through sheer determination and an unbreakable spirit, Samia trains in secret, eventually earning the opportunity to represent Somalia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. TIFF Film Circuit: THE LIFE OF CHUCK

About the Film

Told in three interconnected acts, The Life of Chuck (Tom Hiddleston) unfolds in reverse, beginning with the collapse of the world and tracing backward through Chuck Krantz’s life to reveal the quiet, extraordinary moments that shaped him. As ordinary settings take on an uncanny edge, the film explores themes of memory, joy, fear, and the fragile beauty of human connection. Supported by standout performances from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan, this intimate story balances cosmic stakes with deeply personal emotion, asking viewers to consider what truly makes a life meaningful.

Raised by a father (Blair Underwood) who equates toughness with love, Dean struggles to reconcile his fiery ambition with his teammates’ expectations, a demanding coach, and his own inner turmoil. As tensions rise during key matchups and rivalries, Dean faces a turning point: will he continue down a path of violence — or find strength in humility and growth?
