Cultural Demonstrations

Discover cultural traditions and explore the richness of Indigenous heritage in the region. These demonstrations will cover a variety of topics, such as elder stories, sharing circles, and cultural education.
Please note, presenters may be subject to change.

Saugeen First Nation Community Member and Educator Natalka Pucan will lead birchbark craft demonstrations in the Museum’s Lower Cafe.

Crystal Kewageshig will describe the origin of the jingle dress and showcase the dance style. Crystal’s roots stem from Saugeen First Nation and Neyaashiinigmiing. She is also an educator at G.C. Huston Public School.

Saugeen First Nation Community Member and author Dorothy Ladd will read her storybook Memengwaa, the story of the life of a Monarch Butterfly or “Memengwaa” in Ojibway.
