Join us for an artist talk and casual gallery walk-through of the show A Travelers Journey with Black and White Film, with artist Dian Wise.
During the national celebration of arts and culture known as Culture Days, participants will have a chance to engage and interact with this unique exhibition of photographic works from her travels around the world. Primarily black and white photography, the selection of works capture the beauty and diversity of everyday life and a sense of adventure.
This event is FREE to attend. Preregistration is encouraged.
About the Artist
Dian’s background is in the visual arts as an educator with The Toronto District School Board, specializing in photography. She has had extensive photographic darkroom experience working with black and white film and prints. Over the years during several sabbatical leaves Dian has travelled across the globe learning about different world cultures and visually recording a great diversity of societies.
Dian has been coming to Southampton since she was a child with her father, Jim Watton, who was born & raised here. Dian’s husband and fellow traveller, Doug, have permanently relocated here from Toronto. Her photographs and paintings can be found in private collections.
About Culture Days
Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture. At the end of September each year, millions of people attend thousands of free participatory arts and culture events across the country both in-person and online. Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities.
General admission to the Museum will also be free throughout the day on October 2 as part of Culture Days.
